Long Branch was once knows as the Hollywood of the East. The city was a popular summer resort in the 18th and 19th centuries. The town is located on the Atlantic Ocean in Monmouth County, New Jersey. At least 7 different presidents have visited the town. These include Chester A. Arthur, James A. Garfield, Ulysses S. Grant, Benjamin Harrison, Rutherford B. Hayes, William McKinley, and Woodrow Wilson.

It is after this distinction that "7 Presidents" park and beach is named. There are other beaches in Long Branch, notably the west end beach. Eventually, the town moved from a summer resort to a residential community. In the mid 20th century, many Italian, Jewish, and Irish immigrants moved there. Later, the town developed a sizable African-American community. The fastest growing population in Long Branch now is the Hispanic Community.

Today, Long Branch is a diverse city with a thriving downtown, beach area and several distinct residential neighborhoods. There are two train stations. One is just minutes from the beach and the other in Elberon, near Deal. About 35,000 people call Long Branch home.
